Now that I am on the other side of the healing mountain I am enthusiastic to share yoga with all of you again. During the past year I saw the real power of yoga to facilitate healing. Life gets hectic and the first thing we give up is that quiet time for our own practice which is the one thing that will put all the stress of life back into perspective. In those times when we might not be able to maintain a physical practice that we think of as 'Yoga', it becomes evident that yoga is so much more than getting our heels on the floor in adho mukha svanasana or our hands on the floor in uttanasana. Yoga is how we view the world, how we maneuver through the obstacles that we face and how we heal and transform ourselves on a daily basis. Those still quiet moments on the mat in our imperfect poses whether it is beautiful or limited is yoga. And each of us who begins the journey will be treated to so much beautiful scenery along the way.
We have two wonderful new teachers at the studio. This is a dream come true as we grow our Iyengar community in Charlotte. Come try their classes and support their teaching. They are ready to help you move forward in your practice.
This year I will take the test for the next level of certification. I withdrew from taking the test last fall but am busy preparing for this year's test. I hope you will sign up for one of the upcoming free classes.
Please pass the word about our intro series special to your family and friends who are ready to begin their practice or come refresh yourself with this review of the basic beginning asanas.
